History

At Rye Community Primary School, the History curriculum aligns with the EYFS framework and the national curriculum. Its aim is to develop historical skills and concepts that are transferable across different periods of history, equipping children for future learning. The curriculum provides opportunities for children to work like historians, exploring and celebrating excellence.  Through our teaching, we provide opportunities for children to discover an appreciation and interest in history using a quality curriculum organised into a progression model that outlines the skills, knowledge and vocabulary which are taught in a sequentially coherent way.
