Art and Design

At Rye Community Primary School, the Art and Design curriculum is designed to align with the EYFS framework and the national curriculum. Its aim is for all children to produce creative and imaginative work. Children are given opportunities to explore their ideas and document their experiences, while also evaluating the work of others and considering different creative ideas. We ensure that children become proficient in a variety of techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpting, collage, printing, weaving and pattern making. Additionally, children learn about famous artists, designers and craft makers.
