Week beginning 19th October 2020
Welcome to the last week of term. The children have been fantastic this term and have settled into school life extremely well. We are so pleased that so many of our parents are using class dojo to communicate with us, and share home learning. It is so important that you take the time to become familiar with class dojo as a parent and help your child to create their own user profile as in the event of us having to do remote learning this will be how we deliver our lessons and pupils will submit work.
If you are supporting your child with remote learning this week due to self-isolation please use the following resources and share via dojo.
Maths this week will be focusing on numbers. Please use the videos and resources from White Rose EYFS Its Me 1, 2, 3 unit https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/early-years/its-me-1-2-3-week-1/
and watch the Numberblocks Series 1 episodes 1-4 https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/b08bzfnh/numberblocks
In Literacy this week we will be looking at non fiction instruction text, specifically recipes. We will be making bread in school following the recipe. Whilst you are at home could you watch this episode of Come Outside to learn about making bread https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGb8ZFgNDhc
It would be great if you could make some bread at home or you could follow these instructions to make some toast. (WARNING Adult supervision will be required)
Alternatively you could make a family favourite recipe or try something new from a cookbook. You can check out https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/curations/cbeebies-house-recipes for lots of child friendly recipes. As well as all the maths opportunities we want the children to learn the new key words: recipe, ingredients, equipment, first, next, then, after, finally.
Phonics this week will be focusing on rhyme and oral blending and segmenting please complete the following activities Phonics rhyming oral blending & segmenting
Look out for info on our parents phonic workshop on the class dojo page this week.
Half term
We would have loved to take the children on a trip this term, alas with current additional safety measures due to covid19 we could not. It would be brilliant if you could over half term take your child to one or more of the following; a farm, a bakery, and a farmers market. Please remember to share videos or photos of your adventures on class dojo.
Week beginning 12th October 2020
This week in school we shall be continuing our learning of the Little Red Hen, reading different versions of the text, and looking at the similarities and differences.
If you are learning at home this week you could watch these versions:
